Our European Hotel Reviews
Europe can be tough for finding family friendly accommodation at affordable prices. The standards of America and Asia just don’t seem to add up. Don’t worry, they are out there, you just need to do a little research. Check out these family friendly hotels in all our favourite European countries.
Family friendly hotels in Spain
Spain is a hugely popular family holiday destination from the UK, the weather is mainly a lot warmer than here and flights are cheap and frequent. That doesn’t mean you have to stick to the busiest places, we’ve had some of our best holidays by heading off the beaten path.
Yes it may be known as a party Island but that doesn’t mean you have to join in! Ibiza has a lovely family friendly vibe and is plenty chilled even if your visiting with very little ones. We found the OD Talamanca hotel to be extremely welcoming, beautifully designed and in an ideal location to escape the party people. Have a look at what we thought of the OD Talamanca here.
Tenerife is home to some amazing resort hotels and caters brilliantly to families with so many kid friendly attractions on the Island. We chose to stay at the Roca Nivaria hotel, a high end all-inclusive resort near Adeje. It has an amazing kids club, family friendly entertainment and some of the most beautiful pools on the island. Check out our Roca Nivaria hotel Tenerife reviews and see some more pictures here.
Family friendly hotels in Italy
Tuscany is a hugely popular and beautiful place to visit if you’re traveling to Italy with kids. The main city can get overcrowded and prices rice ridiculously in the peak holiday seasons. The Tuscan countryside makes the perfect choice for quiet retreats whilst still being close enough to most of the action. We opted for the excellent value Hotel Demidoff just 16 km out of Florence. Check out my Hotel Demidoff Florence review and see if it could work for your family.
Family Friendly hotels in Greece
Greece has got to be one of the most family friendly destinations in Europe. The weather is amazing pretty much year round, it only a 4 hour flight and the food is some of the best out there. If you’r planning on visiting the mainland then I highly recommend staying on the Sithonia Peninsula, it is home to sleepy fishing villages, deserted beaches and some lovely resorts. We stayed at the Acrotel Athena Pallas Village, as all inclusive luxury hotel with many family friendly features. Have a look at this full Athena Pallas village Halkidiki review.
Family Friendly hotels in Brussels, Belgium
Brussels is such a fun city and so easy to access from the UK by Eurostar I think every family should visit for the weekend. We stayed at the Radisson Red Hotel next to the European Parliament, it was fun, colourful and absolutely perfect for a family friendly stay. Have a look at our review of this fantastic family friendly Brussels hotels.
Family Friendly hotels in Innsbruck, Austria
If I had a favourite family holiday destination in Europe, I think Innsbruck would be it. There’s just something so special about being surrounded by mountains and it’s a city full of family friendly activities. We visited on our European Interrailing adventure so chose to stay at the Hotel Sailer due to its location next to the central train station. Have a look at this review if you’re trying to work out where to stay in Innsbruck with family.
Family Friendly Hotels in Budapest, Hungary
Home to amazing Spas, beautiful castles and more culture than you can shake a stick at, Budapest is a great option for a cheap European city break with kids. We stayed at the rather small but centrally located Opera Garden Hotel and even in the snow, it made a great base from which to explore the city. Have a look at what we thought of the Opera Garden Hotel & Apartments.
