Also yoga, tai chi, aqua fitness, aqua aerobics, Thai boxing, fit ball, pilates, water volleyball and water polo. Phew! Less active activities include Thai language lessons and cookery classes. Family rooms can sleep up to 5 making this the perfect option for larger families.

Sofitel Krabi kids club

The Sofitel has a brilliant kids club with a fantastic outdoor play area. They have plenty of toys, gaming consoles, books and games and various organised activities such as archery, cookie decorating pizza making and Thai boxing. The kids club is open between 8am and 6pm.

Things to be aware of:

The beach is located across a fairly busy road. Keep a close hold on little ones when crossing.

The hotel is situated a little far away from the activities in Ao Nang and Krabi town but it’s only around 15 minutes drive to reach them.

Price: Expect to pay around £150 per night for your family. If you book direct you can book a second room for 50% off meaning older kids can enjoy their own space. Under 12s can also enjoy a free breakfast.

Best For: Active family travellers who enjoy a bit of luxury.

I would say this hotel is better for teens and tweens than little ones. The location will give teens the freedom to explore Ao Nang at their own pace. You’ll be in walking distance of Starbucks, Mcdonalds and Burger King and heaps of nightlife. Teenager heaven! Plus they’ll love the instagram worthy sunsets from the rooftop bar and infinity pool. The hotel offers cooking courses so the kids and you can learn a skill to take home.

All rooms and villas sleep at least three people, family suites can sleep up to five so it’s perfect for larger families. They also offer interconnecting rooms meaning everyone can have a bit of privacy.

Avani Ao Nang kids club

There is no kids club at the Avani Ao Nang resort.

Things to be aware of:

This isn’t the best resort in Krabi for little kids but teenagers will love it.

Whilst this hotel does not have as many on site activities as some of the others on this list, you’re within walking distance of many great things to do with kids in Krabi.

Price: Expect to pay around £110 per night for your family.

Best For: Those travelling with teenagers and tweens.

Things to be aware of:

The Anana is located up a quiet road at the back of Ao Nang, it’s a short drive into the centre of town so not much around to entertain the kids independently.

This is a smaller boutique style hotel, it’s not huge but it is very lovely.

The views from the hotel pool and its very own beach are of glorious turquoise waves and dramatic karst formations.

There are heaps of activities to suit all ages with a Games room full of games consoles, big screen projectors and comfy seating and a brilliant kids club.

The kids club at the Centara Grand Beach resort is a lovely space for kids to play, make friends and possible learn a new skill. Kids can try yoga, make arts and crafts, take part in scavenger hunts and pirate workshops. Also for a small fee they can enjoy batik painting, boxing classes, cookie decorating and much more.

Things to be aware of:

Being pretty much cut off from the rest of Krabi makes a stay here fairrly expensive. Unless you walk the monkey tril you’ll be relying on the hotel for transport and will need to eat and drink in the resort.

Price: Expect to pay around £200 per night for your family.

Best For: Families looking for the ultimate remote escape.

  2. Kids will love the pool table and gaming room – anything to keep them happy right?!
  3. Many tours to the southern islands leave from Ao Nang beach making family days out super easy.

Special features for kids at the Centara Ao Nang Resort

The hotel has a kids pool specifically for little ones to enjoy and the main pool has a water slide. There’s also a gaming room and an E-Zone if your kids like tech. Kids will love stepping out onto the beach to spot the sweet little monkeys swinging from the palm trees. Some family rooms have bunkbeds and some are available with direct pool access. Babysitting is available for an extra charge.

The Kids Club At the Centara Ao Nang Krabi

The Camp Safari kids club at the Centara Ao Nang has heaps of activities to keep your kids entertained. They can try yoga and origami, face painting, beach football, Thai dancing, Muay Thai boxing and necklace making. Plus for a small fee there’s pizza making, doll painting and Batik painting. Pretty much something for everyone!

Things to be aware of:

Although Ao Nang beach is lovely, it’s a fairly narrow stretch of sand which can be a bit busy. It’s not private or as pretty as some of the other beaches in Krabi.

Food in the hotel’s restaurant is a bit pricey, I recommend heading out to the local restaurants in town.

Price: Expect to pay around £150 per night for your family.

Best For: Families who plan on doing a lot of boat tours during their stay in Krabi.
