Welcome to parents, teachers and other concerned adults. Our website, arewethereyetkids.com, is hosted by us, Are We There Yet Kids Ltd, a UK company with offices at Pepperpot Corner, Manor Road, Hamstall Ridware, England, WS15 3RS. On this site, parents and (with parental permission) kids can read and write reviews by other kids or parents. The site is not made available to users located or resident in the USA.
We advise parents who permit their children to use our site that it is important that they communicate with their children about their safety online, as moderation can never be foolproof. Children who are using any interactive service should be made aware of the potential risks to them. Children should not include any personal information (including contact details) in any reviews or comments they make on our site.
In this policy we describe what information we collect and what uses we put it to.
What Information We Collect and How We Collect It
When users register and create a profile on Are We There Yet Kids, we ask them to select a username, and enter their name, age, the country in which they live, and a password. If the age indicates that the user is under 16, we will ask for a parent’s email address AND their own address or will ask them to contact us directly. If the user indicates that they are over 16, we will ask for their own address.
We collect personally identifiable information from our users at several different points on our site including registration, and any contact made by users in relation to any comments, questions or complaints they have.
How we use the information we collect
In the event that the user indicates that they are under 16 we will, in addition to a parent’s email address, ask for their own address for the sole purpose of communicating when a review written by that user has been published on the Website. For the avoidance of doubt, this email will be used for no other purpose.
We will also use a parent’s email address to communicate with parents about their child in relation to our site; an example would be when a password has been forgotten, or any comments or concerns a parent has.
Upon activation of an account, the information submitted will be used by us to allow the registered user to use our site.
Additionally, we may use the information for the following purposes:
to help us identify users and any accounts held with us;
research, statistical analysis and behavioural analysis;
customer profiling and analysing user’s purchasing preferences;
marketing—see fraud prevention and detection;
Billing and order fulfilment;
customising this website and its content to user’s particular preferences;
to notify users of any changes to this website or to our services that may affect them;
improving our services.
Parents/guardians can review their child’s use of our site and at any time request that we delete the account activated in respect of their child, and refuse to allow us to collect further information from the child. This is done by emailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Parents should include in the email the following information: (i) their child’s username; and (ii) the email address which was used to activate the account. We may ask additional questions or take other steps to verify the identity of parents/guardians before responding to a request to review or delete their child’s information.
Marketing and opting out
If users over 18 have given permission, we may contact them by email about products, services, promotions, or special offers that may be of interest to them. If users prefer not to receive any direct marketing communications from us, they can opt out at any time in the manner specified in the Users’ Rights section below.
Disclosure of user’s personal data
We may disclose user’s personal data to:
other companies within our group;
our agents and service providers;
law enforcement agencies in connection with any investigation to help prevent unlawful activity;
our business partners in accordance with the ‘Marketing and opting out’ section above;
Keeping user’s data secure
We will use technical and organisational measures to safeguard user’s personal data, for example:
access to a user’s account is controlled by a password and username that are unique to them;
we store user’s personal data on secure servers; and
payment details are encrypted using SSL technology.
While we will use all reasonable efforts to safeguard user’s personal data, users acknowledge that the use of the internet is not entirely secure and, for this reason, we cannot guarantee the security or integrity of any personal data that are transferred from users or to users via the internet.
Information about other individuals
If users give us information on behalf of someone else, they in doing so confirm that the other person has appointed them to act on his/her behalf and has agreed that they can:
give consent on his/her behalf to the processing of his/her personal data;
receive on his/her behalf any data protection notices; and
give consent to the transfer of his/her personal data abroad.
Users have the right, subject to the payment of a small fee (currently £10), to request access to personal data that we may process about them. If a user wishes to exercise this right, they should:
put user’s request in writing to Pepperpot Corner, Manor Yard, Hamstall Ridware, WS15 3RS;

Users have the right to require us to correct any inaccuracies in user’s data free of charge. If a user wishes to exercise this right, they should:
put user’s request in writing;
provide us with enough information to identify you (eg account number, username, registration details); and
specify the information that is incorrect and what it should be replaced with.
Users also have the right to ask us to stop processing their (including, for parents, their children’s) personal data for direct marketing purposes. If a user wishes to exercise this right, a user should:
