I recently took a much needed short break to Ibiza with one of my closest friends. Not my usual frantic travel with my daughter but a relaxed, lazy, few days in Talamanca, Ibiza. We stayed at The OD Talamanca a gorgeous boutique hotel just a short 15 minute taxi ride from the airport, walked for hours, read books and ate indulgently. Here’s all you need to know if you’re considering the OD Talamanca hotel for your Ibiza base.
The hotel is in the small town of Talamanca, about half an hours walk from Ibiza old Town. If you’re looking for crazy nightlife, this probably isn’t your place (although Pasha is pretty close and you can always taxi anywhere else). It feels delightfully sleepy and has a bright and elegant vibe, a perfect refuge from the madness elsewhere on the island.
From the hotel It’s a quick stroll down to Talamanca beach, where there are a few nice bars, beach clubs and restaurants and a small stretch of sand. There’s a boardwalk which stretches almost to the Botofoch Marina, making the stroll along the beach easy for small kids and buggies.
We walked into the old town everyday, taking it slow, it’s just 45 mins and a pretty easy walk with plenty of places to stop along the way.
The Rooms at OD Talamanca Hotel
The room was clean and bright with enough storage space for two. The bed was comfy and there’s a small seating area and a bathroom with a shower, again with some storage space and complimentary toiletries.
My favourite part of the room was the small balcony, from it you could see across Talamanca bay and it made a fabulous place to watch the sunset or enjoy your morning coffee.
Each room has free Wifi, a flat screen TV, hairdryer, robe & slippers and a laptop sized safe.
They also offer Duplex and junior suites which would be perfect for a family and include a smart car so you can explore the island by road. There’s also plenty of covered parking if you have a hire car.
The hotel design
The hotel design is absolutely gorgeous, clean and contemporary with plenty of lovely features and places to sit.
All along the reception area there are huge glass doors which can be opened to give the whole place an indoor/outdoor feel. It’s “cool glamour” all the way!
This is a beautiful hotel full of beautiful people, there aren’t many kid friendly extras available but I would love to return with my seven year old out of season.
The Pools at the OD Talamanca
The hotel has 3 split level pools, all beautifully designed with separate seating terraces for each. When we were there we never struggled to get a lounger but it was very quiet. They will provide complimentary pool towels so you don’t have to worry about bringing any from home.
Be warned, the pools are pretty cold and pretty small, great for kids but not if you want a daily work out.
During the summer months there’s a DJ spinning tunes daily.
The Food at OD Talamanca
Breakfast was not included in our package but we paid for it one morning. Most of it is buffet service but they will cook fresh eggs on request. There were loads of healthy, tasty options alongside some sweet treats. It was €20 each so we ate at Talamanca beach on our other days. They serve breakfast until midday, perfect if you’ve enjoyed a lie in. I’ve read some other OD Talamanca reviews and most rave about the breakfast too!
Again, the restaurant is just beautiful, scandi-style and the staff were super helpful and friendly.
There’s also a lovely pool bar, if you fancy a drink on your sunlounger and a relaxed lobby bar for evening drinks.
They offer 24hr room service if you prefer something in your room, helpful if you’re keeping irregular “Ibiza hours”!
Value for money
We were staying out of season so got a brilliant deal – under £100 per night. The food and drinks can be pretty pricey but it’s all super delicious!
