Shows for toddlers
London is famous for its kid-friendly theatre shows, from puppet shows to family-friendly musicals. A visit to the theatre is one of our favourite rainy day activities for kids in London. Polka Theatre is a must-see. This world-class show for toddlers is amazing. The shows are meant for kids of all ages, even babies. Another great pick is Fortune Theatre in Convent Garden, a historic playhouse with some of the best shows for pre-scholars who wrongfully believe that going to the theatre is boring. At The Fortune, the performances are truly inspiring, and there’s nothing boring about them! For families with teens, we recommend a more avant-garde type of theatre – The Lyceum, with shows and performances that will leave you speechless.
Toy Shops in London – one of our back up rainy day activities for kids in London
Where to take toddlers in a city and be sure they won’t get bored? That is the million dollar question – to a toy shop, of course. Parents, we’re sorry to inform you but London doesn’t just have one, but tens of amazing toy shops. We recommend hiding the wallet, placing it someplace safe, or just pretending you’ve lost it. The Science Museum shop has lots of interesting toys for kids, including gadgets, robots, shirts, telescopes, books and more. The Harry Potter shop is another great place for toddlers you can’t miss out. The broad range of bags, plush toys, books, wands, t-shirts, costumes, etc. will most likely hypnotise your little Harry Potter fan.
Dining with the kids in London
Where can you enjoy a nice meal in London with the kids and not hear them complain every 2 minutes that they don’t like the food? Some of the best family restaurants in London pride themselves with special menus for kids, activities they can try out during meals (colouring books, for example) and treats for good behaviour to grab their attention and make them forget all about the weather outside. Rainforest Cafe is a great place to start. While having dinner, toddlers can also admire the real tropical fish, waterfalls, animals and colourful lighting. This themed Amazonian rainforest restaurant might just open their appetite for healthy food; or just cake and ice cream.
There are many things you can do with the kids on a rainy day in London. Why let the weather ruin your holiday when you can go shopping for the coolest toys, explore the wonders of the city’s museums, or watch a hilarious puppet show? Grab the kids and get going as you have money to spend and toddlers to entertain!
