We’ve been visiting the Algarve for family holidays since Piper was tiny. It’s super easy to get to with great value flights from all over the UK and is home to some of the most beautiful scenery in Europe. We’ve stayed in Villas, budget hotels and luxurious hotels. For our last visit we were searching for Algarve all inclusive family hotels and came across the Adriana Beach, Albufeira and I’m so glad we opted for a bit of easy luxury on our break. Here’s everything you need to know about the hotel.

It does get pretty busy during the school holidays so make sure your book your stay at the AP Adriana Beach resort as early as you can.

Adriana Beach Albufeira Style
The AP Adriana is a sprawling resort style hotel set just back from the glorious Algarve coastline. The terracotta topped low level buildings give it a village feel with rooms surrounding the large main pool area. The design is modern and bright with landscaped gardens providing vibrant green spaces and interesting plant life.

Things to do at the Adriana beach hotel near Albufeira
This hotel offers heaps of activities, so much so you probably wont feel the need to leave. They have several onsite tennis courts, archery, mini golf, football and volleyball.

There always seems to be something going on around the pool such as yoga, aqua gym, aerobics and live music in the evenings. This area is the loudest part of the resort and could be a bit overwhelming for some little ones. The rest of the resort is very peaceful so you can just move a bit further away if you prefer.

If you don’t fancy an indoor gym session you could try the outdoor circuits track in the hotels pine forest. Kids particularly seem to love following the helpful exercise boards as they ran through the trees. Or for something a little calmer they can try petanque or boules with all equipment provided by the hotel.

The pools at this all inclusive Algarve hotel
The pool is always my daughters favourite place to be when we’re travel and the AP Adriana has plenty. No less than four outdoor pools and one indoors which is heated. Two of the outdoor pools are just for adults. We found that there were plenty of beds around the pool area but you may have to arrive early in the day to secure one.

The Rooms at the AP Adriana
Rooms are recently refurbed with tiled floors and spacious balconies. Design is either crisp, bright and clean or modern moody blues. The tiled floors keep the rooms nice and cool and they all have TVs, a mini fridge, desk area and air con. Rooms come in various sizes, my daughter and I opted for a large superior twin which was huge with loads of storage space and a lovely balcony.

The room and in fact the whole resort was very clean. The bathroom was plenty large enough with a shower and plenty of space to store our toiletries.
What’s included in the All Inclusive package
All food and drink is included in the basic all inclusive package. Although you may have to pay a bit more for branded spirits. We were more than happy with local sparkling wine and local spirits in the cocktails. All activities, the pools, gym, kids club and spa access are included although you will have to pay more for treatments, transport and snacks from the shop.

Food and drink at the Adriana Beach hotel
This is an all inclusive hotel so yes, the majority of your food will be taken buffet style. AP Adriana beach resort food options are plentiful. The main restaurant is called Al Gharb. It’s huge with several different seating areas. Including an area specifically for kids. It is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves a wide range of food, including constantly changing themed nights. You can help yourselves to beer, wine and soft drinks.

There’s also the onsite Grill restaurant which has a set menu served right to your table. The food was pretty good although not massively better than the main restaurant. They have two sittings each night at 6.45pm and 8.45pm and you’ll need to book your slot in advance. You can do this with staff just outside Al Gharb, they were there most mornings. This restaurant might not be open during low season, it depends how full the hotel is.

For drinks, the Sunset Bar is located next to the main pool where you can order wine, beers and cocktails. It’s open from 10.30am until 11pm and is where all the evening entertainment takes place so can get a bit nosy.

Most restaurants in the Algarve are relatively inexpensive so if you want to avoid the all inclusive buffet crowds don’t worry about heading to a local restaurant.
What is close to the AP Adriana Beach resort
The hotel is just steps away from stunning Falesia Beach which is easily one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. If you’re staying at the hotel you can use the sunbeds and umbrellas for free. To reach the beach just follow the signs through the resort the head down 90 rather steep steps when you reach the cliff. During peak times there is always a lifeguard on the beach keeping everyone safe.

The hotel offers a daily shuttle bus to Albufeira and back. It’s just one euro each way and make sure you prebook as it can fill up quick. We hopped on the bus in the morning and got an Uber back to the hotel in the evening, again it wasn’t expensive. The drive takes around twenty minutes.

It’s also a fairly easy walk along the beach into Vilamoura. Although it did take us over an hour, it’s such a glorious stretch of sand I definitely think it’s worth it. The hotel also offers a shuttle bus to Vilamoura if you don’t fancy the walk.

If you just fancy a wander, the cliff walk (or run) just out of the hotel offers up some stunning views. Turn right when you leave the hotel, keep going for around fifteen minutes and you’ll find a charming little beach cafe. The perfect place to stop for a coffee or ice cream and take in the views.

What makes this one of the best Algarve all inclusive family hotels for kids
The kids Club at the Adriana beach Resort is absolutely brilliant and open every day for kids aged 4 to 11. The hotel runs dance classes and family friendly quizzes throughout the day during the kids holidays. I do think this is one of the best all inclusive toddler friendly resorts in the Algarve.

What makes this one of the best Algarve all inclusive family hotels for adults
The Adriana hotel has an excellent spa area if you can juggle the childcare. Here you can grab a brilliant massage or beauty treatment or just relax in the Turkish bath or sauna. If you want to work off all those all inclusive calories then the hotel is home to a fully equipped gym. Although we didn’t use this, we just exercised by walking along the beach.

Is the Adriana Beach, Albufeira good value for money?
Our three night stay at the Adriana Beach hotel cost us just under £450. This was in September so just outside of peak season but still a great time to travel to the Algarve. Considering all food and drink was included plus various entertainment and our large room I would say it’s excellent value for money. Looking at the peak summer holidays this goes up to £500 per night for two adults and one child (although I’m sure you could find better deals booking closer to travel). This does sound like a lot of money but remember everything is included – you won’t even need to leave the hotel and flights to the Algarve are consistently good value.

Service at the AP Adriana
Everyone we interacted with at the AP Adriana was super friendly and helpful. We arrived fairly late at night and reception staff took us through everything we needed to know promptly and with a smile. During busy periods service at the bar could be pretty slow although this was to be expected.
Where is the Adriana Beach resort located
The Adriana Beach Hotel is located between Vilamoura and Albufeira on Falesia beach. It’s around a forty minute drive to Faro airport which is probably where you’ll fly into. I always use Skyscanner to find the cheapest flights. I love that you can see all the prices for each day so you can find the best price for within a date range.
