Destination Guide Australia

Australia with kids

Australia is definitely on AWTYK’s list as one of the best family holiday destinations in the world. Yes, it’s a long flight, and not one to do on a small budget, but once you gathered your family and your finances, Australia with kids is a magical destination.

In addition to the lights and famous Opera House of cosmopolitan Sydney, head north to enjoy the natural beauty of the Blue Mountains, or head to Western Australia for beautiful walks around Margaret River and visit one of the many animal and bird parks, often set up so Wallabies can roam in close proximity which can be magical.

If you’re with older children, AWTYK highly recommends The Bunbury Dolphin Discovery Centre in Koombana Bay. It is one of few places in the world – and the only place in Australia – where you can enjoy an exhilarating experience with wild dolphins in the water, on a boat, or at the shoreline, and learn more about them at the interpretive Center. Dolphin swim tours operate daily from October to April, bringing you face to face with some of the 100+ wild bottlenose dolphins who live in this area. They are treated with the utmost respect as wild sea creatures.

A laid back, friendly and family orientated culture makes this country well worth exploring. One word of warning – 2 weeks is never enough so go for as long as you can!

Read this insiders guide to Fremantle which is in Western Australia. A lovely place to visit with kids.
