I’m an absolute sucker for a beach club. I love somewhere I can park up all day, enjoy a swim, stroll on the beach and seamlessly slide into an evening of great music and dancing. I also think they’re fun for teens and tweens who can wander around a safe space taking dips in the pool and getting aesthetic shots for their insta. During out recent visit to Phuket, I knew we had to book at least one and after much research looking for the best beach club in Patong settled on Fuga Beach Club.

What makes this the best beach club in Patong
There are several beach clubs you can choose from in Patong but I knew we wanted a super pretty one which would be fairly chilled and small enough to keep an eye on the kids. Visiting with three tweens meant it had to be reasonably child-safe with plenty of kid friendly food options. Fuga Beach Club on Patong beach has this and more.
On arrival I knew this was the place for us. The boutique style reception desk and aesthetically decorated corridor gave off exactly the relaxed vibes I was looking for. Greeting staff were more than welcoming to our kids and took us through everything we needed to know for our visit.
We were quickly ushered to a comfy table which would be ours for as long as we stayed and delivered a complimentary welcome drink – fizz all round!
Even though we visited during Songkran Festival which is one of Patongs busiest times, the club was pretty quite and stayed that way even after the sun went down.
Fuga Beach club is not big, it has a small infinity pool with table islands you can enjoy food or drink at. Direct access down to Patong Beach and an excellent bar and restaurant. The views from the upper platform were particularly stunning as the sun started to set. It’s the perfect spot for a sundowner in Patong.
Fuga beach club after dark
As the sun begins to set the beach club does liven up a bit. The music heats up a bit with regular guest DJs spinning upbeat tunes. There’s also a fireshow on the beach which takes place right in front of the beach front beds and occasional Moonlit Movie Nights right on the sand.
If you want to freshen up before your night starts you can shower and change in the beach clubs facilities. Or you can just stay in your swimsuit and enjoy the music from the pool.
Fuga Beach Club restaurant
As we stayed for many hours at the beach club, we ordered several plates of food, it was all very tasty and beautifully presented. Food is all cooked fresh in the open kitchen and the menu is incredibly diverse with many international options. They serve a large range of sushi and some excellent seafood dishes.
We stared with a delicious bowl of hummus with freshly cooked flatbreads. We had to order several of these as the kids hoovered it up.
When we were finally ready for mains we chose a selection of Mediterranean and Thai dishes. Spaghetti bolognaise for the kids and some seafood treats for us.
Service was perhaps a little slow, but this didn’t bother us at all. We were there for the lazy vibe, not for a rushed meal. Expect to pay around £7 for a main meal and the sushi dishes. Snacks and sides are under £5.
Whilst they didn’t have a huge selection of vegetarian and Vegan options on the menu, if you do have any dietary requirements, be sure to discuss them with your server before you order. You can have a look at the full menu here.
Drinks at Fuga Beach Club
Again the drinks menu at Fuga was extensive. As mentioned, we started with some very lovely sparkling wine before enjoying beers and cocktails. The Cocktails are about £6.50 each with a bottle of local beer about £3. Yes you can drink for a lot less along Bangla road but you definitely don’t get such amazing facilities and atmosphere.
Is this a good beach club in Phuket for kids
Whilst Fuga Beach Club is not particularly targeted at kids, it definitely felt plenty family friendly. Our children absolutely loved getting in and out of the pool and were more than welcome even well into the evening. The beach club provided a few inflatables which entertained them for hours and that they could order small kid friendly dishes whenever they were hungry.
They could easily wander down to the beach once they tired of the pool and I loved that we could keep an eye on them from our daybeds as they played in the sand. The fireshow was a huge hit and the night time tunes seemed to give them an extra spurt of energy without being oppressively loud.
My favourite part of bringing the kids to Fuga was that I could see them wherever they were in the club. Meaning the adults could relax and enjoy a drink without having to chase the kids around or constantly getting in and out of the pool. Obviously you’d still need to do this is you’re visiting with little kids or toddlers.
The vibe
As you can see from the photos, Fuga Beach club enjoys a modern, fresh design. It feels wonderfully laid back compared to the chaotic streets of Patong. It’s less hedonistic hard partying, more upmarket get togethers and long lazy afternoons.
Where to find Fuga Beach club in Patong
Fuga Beach Club is located at the Northern end of Patong beach, you’ll find it just below the Novotel Hotel and next to the dolphin roundabout. It’s easily walkable from most of Patong or you could always hop in a Tuk Tuk.
Entry fee
There is no entry fee to Fuga beach club although you will need to pay a deposit if you prebook a table to secure your spot.
Does Fuga Beach Club have a minimum spend?
When we visited we received vouchers through the Diamond Cliff Resort where we were staying. This meant there was no minimum spend. This was a Songkran promotion but you might be able to secure similar by popping in a few days before you visit. The Thais love a good negotiation!
If you do book in advance there are different minimum spends depending on where you want to sit. Sofas on the upper deck which is where we were based have a minimum spend of 8,000 Thai Bhat which is about £180. They sit 7 people so that’s less than £26 per person which we easily hit with our food and drinks.
Sunbeds on the beach and poolside tables which seat 2 people have a minimum spend of 3,000 Baht or £35 per person. Finally tables by the fresh bar on the upper level have a minimum spend of 2,000 Baht or £23 per person. You’ll also need to add 10% Service tax and 7% Government tax which is fairly standard.
This is pretty typical for beach clubs in Patong and I think you’ll easily meet the minimum if you stay for several hours.
Facilities at Fuga Beach Club, Patong
You’ll find spotlessly clean toilets, showers and changing facilities. Everything you need for a fabulous day by the beach.
Opening times
Fuga Beach club is open between 8am and midnight. We arrived in the late afternoon and left around 10.30pm which was the perfect amount of time to enjoy both the beach and facilities at the club.
Does Fuga beach club have a dress code?
Fuga does not have an official dress code. We felt completely comfortable in swimsuits, sandals and cover ups. If you want to stay to enjoy the evening entertainment you might want to bring a floaty dress or loose t-shirt and shorts but you definitely don’t have to.
What should you bring
Make sure you bring a couple of towels per person. Although you will be given one, you’ll probably be in and out of the pool or sea and want to dry off in between. Whilst there are several shaded areas, make sure you bring suncream and hats, the pool is in direct sunlight. Non slip rock shoes are a good idea for the kids if you think they will want to head down to the sea. Don’t forget your swimsuit!
So have I convinced you that Fuga is the best beach club in Patong? Maybe even the whole of Phuket. I have to admit, I didn’t visit them all but can highly recommend this little slice of paradise for a great evening on Phuket.
