For a pool with a view in Da Nang
The Haian Hotel
One of the many tall buildings lining Da Nang’s seafront. The Haian hotel is a 21 storey gem of a hotel. Located beachside overlooking My Khe beach this is a great choice of where to stay in Da Nang if you want easy access to both the beach and the city. It’s just a 15 minute walk to Dragon Bridge (and from there you’re within ten minutes of most of the city’s attractions). And just across the road from the soft sand and gentle waves of the South China Sea. The hotel has a reasonably priced Spa. A visit to which is a great way to beat the jet lag on arrival.
My favourite part of the hotel is of course the rooftop pool and restaurant/bar. From here you can take in some of the best views of the city. Skyscrapers to one side, the South China Sea from the other. I highly recommend heading up here for the sunset – absolutely breathtaking!
Rooms come in many shapes and sizes from simple city view rooms to two bed apartments with kitchens. They’re tastefully designed with all the usual amenities. The restaurant and rooftop bar are located on the 22nd floor, next to the pool. It serves great value meals, drinks and cocktails. Many of which will appeal to the kids. Yes they serve mocktails too!
We had their version of fish and chips – yum! They’ll even serve your food on a floating tray in the pool if you can’t face getting out!
You can stay at this gorgeous 4 star hotel in Da Nang for under £60 a night for a family room, compare prices and book your stay here.
For the ultimate in luxury in Da Nang
Sheraton Grand Danang Resort
Located on the edge of Non Nuoc Beach and around 20 minutes drive from the airport, the Sheraton Grand offers everything you would expect from this luxury brand. All rooms are gorgeously decorated and equipped with Smart TVs, Wifi, private balconies and some of the comfiest beds in the area.
Come here to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy some quiet beach time. Non Nuoc was practically deserted when we visited. To help you relax even more, the hotel has a high end Spa (with prices to match). Also a gorgeous infinity pool overlooking the white sand and an onsite fitness centre.
We loved the hotels choices of restaurants, particularly dining beachside at La Plage, their Asian restaurant with comfy recliners and a great cocktail selection. Onsite they also have a Poolside dining service, the relaxed Table 88, a coffee shop, Whiskey bar and a Grill restaurant. Apart from the prices – there’s no need to leave!
For keeping the kids happy, there’s a separate pool for them to splash about in and an onsite kids club. They even have activity menus available in all the restaurants offering a range of western and Asian kid friendly favourites.
This is another fantastic place in Da Nang to watch the sunset. Head to La Plage, take a seat down on the beach and enjoy the colours!
Expect to pay upwards of £150 per night for a family room. Yes, it’s very pricey for Vietnam but we all deserve a luxury treat at times right?! Compare prices and book your stay here
For the best rooftop bar in Da Nang
Vanda Hotel
If you’ve done your Da Nang research, you’ll no doubt have seen mention of the Dragon Bridge. Its unique and rather quirky tourist draw. Yes you can walk across and examine the dragon from up close but I like to see it from above. The best place to do this is from the Vanda Hotel located on the West Side of the river, close to Da Nang’s international Airport.
The location of the Vanda is ideal if you plan on exploring the city. It’s next to the Danang Museum and within walking distance to other popular attractions such as the pink cathedral and Dragon bridge. It will only take you a couple of minutes in a taxi to get to the beach. And ten minutes to the Marble Mountains. The concierge will be happy to expertly summon one for you!
All rooms at the Vanda come equipped with tv, kettle, water and dressing gowns. The hotel has an onsite Spa and fitness centre and the beautiful Trico Restaurant serving Asian/European cuisine. The bar on the 19th floor is the best place for views. With both indoor and outdoor seating areas serving some amazing cocktails or soft drinks. The outdoor terrace can get pretty windy so just make sure you hold on to your drinks!

For a central location in Da Nang
Hilton Da Nang
Located on the North side of the Han River Bridge. Right on the river bank making it ideal for combining both a city and beach break. It’s just steps away from the busy Bach Dang where you’ll find loads of restaurants and bars.
The contemporarily designed hotel looks both elegant and welcoming and spans a full 28 floors. It’s officially a four star hotel but is freshly opened so feels more like a five! Rooms are modern Vietnamese by design. They include baths, rain showers, HDTVs, mini bars, safes and my favourite – international plug sockets!
For little ones, there’s a kids play area and for those keen to keep up with their fitness routine, a huge gym. There’s a reasonably sized outdoor pool on the 4th floor with a few recliners. It’s a lovely space to cool off after a busy day exploring.
For eats, you have several options at the Hilton Da Nang. The Sail on the 28th floor is the place to head for amazing views and a delicious Vietnamese/Mediterranean inspired menu. A children’s menu can be requested at all the restaurants. For something smaller you can visit the Parisian inspired Café Viet or for all day dining to the Brasserie Nam.

For your own Space
Ocean Villas Rentals
If you’re visiting Da Nang with kids then a villa or apartment rental with your own kitchen, washing facilities and plenty of space can be the ideal solution. I love having the freedom of an Airbnb when traveling. It’s great to be able to get some washing done and cook food I know Piper will eat. But I often miss the social aspects of staying in a hotel. Being an only child it’s always great when Piper can make friends in a hotel pool or kids club. We found the ideal combination in the Ocean Villas. A large resort about 20 mins drive from the city of Da Nang.
Ocean Villas has plenty of accommodation options from large and luxurious villas to great value modern apartments. You can read my full review of the Ocean Villas here.
The resort has several pools, restaurants and is right on a beautiful and very quiet beach. Our one bed studio had everything we needed for our stay. And was a lovely space to relax after exploring all day.
The Ocean villas is located in Hoa Hai so will take around 30 minutes from the airport. This area is going through massive development with luxury hotels and resorts popping up all the time. It’s partly why Da Nang has been called the Miami of Asia with luxury accommodation lining the beautiful sandy beach.
Our 1 bed studio apartment at the Ocean Villas cost less than £70 per night. Check the latest prices and book your stay at the Ocean Villas here.
For the best beach club in Da Nang
Melia Da Nang
Another luxury option that actually won’t break the bank (too much). The Melia is again located near Hoa Hai. So a little bit out of the city and surrounded by other luxury hotels.
All rooms at the Melia have either ocean, mountain or garden views. With free wifi, safe, mini bar and large TVs.
You’re spoilt for choice for dining options at the Melia, the Barbecue restaurant, Breeza Beach Bar probably being my favourite. Serving seafood, burgers and family friendly pasta dishes it’s a great place to relax and take in the view. There’s also the informal Market Place and Pool bar, Cape Nao beach club and Vietnamese Nam Viet.
For relaxation you can visit the YHI Spa or the well equipped fitness centre with some fantastic views to the beach.
If you’re visiting with kids you’ll be spoilt for choice. The hotel boasts a whopping 5 pools, 2 of which are kiddie pools. The hotel has an onsite kids club and babysitting services should you need them. This hotel in on what I think is the best beach in Da Nang making it the ideal location to base yourselves.
You can find rooms at the Melia Danang for less than £100 per night. Compare prices and book your stay here.
Where to Stay in Da Nang for budget travellers
Star City Hotel Danang
Vietnam is a dream for budget travellers. Hotels, hostels and rentals are super cheap. It’s easy to find great value food and free things to do like beautiful beaches and amazing hikes. Budget hotels in Vietnam are not like those in the USA or Europe. They’re still beautiful, clean and gorgeous places to stay. I think the best we found in Da Nang is the Star City Hotel.
Located on the East side of the river and a short walk to the beach or back into town. You’ll be close to bars, restaurants and a handy convenience store. Another great way to keep the costs down when you’re traveling with kids.
The tastefully decorated rooms come with free wifi, bathrooms have both a bath and shower. The rooms located high up have great views of the city. A buffet breakfast is served at Air restaurant on the 11th floor and they have an onsite spa for a massage.
The hotel offers free shuttle busses to the lovely town of Hoi An or into the Marble mountains.
We found a room at this 3 star hotel for a tiny £19 per night, compare prices and book your stay at the Star City hotel here.
As you can see, there’s so much choice for where to stay in Da Nang, it really is a city to suit all travellers.
