If you’re looking for a restaurant with a view in Koh Samui you can’t go wrong with a trip to the Jungle Club in Chaweng Noi. Located high in the hills overlooking stunning Chaweng Bay this is one of the top places to watch the sunset on the island.

What makes this such a unique restaurant in Koh Samui
This is not somewhere you would stumble upon without doing your research. It’s tucked away up a steep hill along a rickety road and you’ll reach it on the back of a 4 x 4 truck. Whilst relatively unassuming on arrival once you walk through to the restaurant area the view will immediately stop you in your tracks.
The Jungle club easily makes it into my list of the best Koh Samui viewpoints. I love that it’s tucked away in the mountains, high up enough to take in all of Chaweng Bay, Lamai and the airport.
Design of the Jungle Club
The main eating and drinking area is all dark wood and multi level, floating platforms which are unfenced so as not to interrupt the view. Bright red beanbags surround low tables on the edges of platforms with higher tables closer to the entrance more suitable for dining.
Set within a coconut plantation the Jungle Club is also a hotel with spacious bungalows and a pool just for guests.
The menu at the Jungle Club is a combination of French and Thai. With some Western favourites thrown in for good measure. We went all out starting with sharing platters and Thai spring rolls and samosas.
Then onto huge plates of ribs and a delicious green curry which was served in a coconut. It had just the right amount of spice.
We enjoyed all the food we ordered and found the portions well presented and generous. But I have had better meals a lot cheaper on Koh Samui. Let’s face it, you’re not visiting the jungle club for the food quality, it’s all about the view.
Vegan options at the Jungle club Koh Samui
We had a couple of vegans in our party when we visited the Jungle Club. They didn’t have any trouble choosing something suitable from the menu and were pleased with the level of choice. Staff were also happy to answer any questions about ingredients.

How to get to the Jungle Club in Koh Samui
The restaurant will send a small open back truck to collect you from the main road at the base of the hill. I don’t recommend attempting this drive yourself either on motorbike or in a car. And most taxis will refuse to take you all the way up.
Jungle Club Samui restaurant prices
It’s definitely one of the more expensive places to eat on Koh Samui. And Koh Samui is pretty expensive for Thailand. Remember you’re paying for your surroundings and the view. If you’re visiting from the UK then you’ll still be pretty pleased with your bill at the end of the meal. Even more so if you’re used to USA pricing.
Visiting the Jungle Club with kids
This restaurant with a view in Koh Samui is incredibly welcoming to children. As are most restaurants in Thailand. The menu is extensive with Thai, Western, French and Italian dishes so little one’s should be able to find something they like. Our girls wolfed down big bowls of pasta and ice cream for dessert.
There are no fences along the raised platforms so do not little ones run around unsupervised. It’s a good idea to ask for a table close to the interior of the restaurant away from the edges when you book. This side of the restaurant is next to a spacious grassed area near the bungalows so there is plenty of space for the kids to run around. Kids will obviously love the exhilarating ride up to the restaurant and back down again in the dark.
Have a look on Tripadvisor for more reviews of the Jungle Club restaurant.
There’s a small gift shop next to the hotel lobby selling pretty hand crafted jewellery and beach wear. It’s pretty expensive for Thailand but the products were really lovely.

Dress Code for the Jungle Club Koh Samui
Although I couldn’t find any official information about the jungle club dress code, everyone we smartly dressed when we visited. I wouldn’t arrive in beach wear, aim for smart casual koh Samui style! If you have any doubt it’s always best to phone ahead to check.
If you fancy visiting another restaurant with a view in Koh Samui then check out Coco Tam’s restaurant in Bophut which is equally chilled and friendly. Or head to this amazing Italian Restaurant, Koh Samui if you fancy a break from Thai food.
