Luxury Shopping for kids in Bangkok.
Siam Paragon
Siam Paragon is the ultimate in luxury shopping in Bangkok. Here you’ll find pretty much every designer store imaginable but you’ll also find some everyday stores like H & M and Zara. Be sure to pop in the lego store if your kids like to build. There’s a Maccies in the food court if the kids are craving something they know and plenty of other great places to eat. Siam Paragon is also home to Sealife Bangkok, another family friendly attraction in the city. There’s also a cinema and bowling alley perfect for entertaining teens for a few hours.
Nearest Station to Siam Paragon: Chit Lom or Siam BTS
IconSiam
Located right on the riverfront and acessed via a free shuttle boat, IconSiam is one of the most luxurious shopping Mall in the city. It has all the top end brands and mid range international clothing stores plus fabulous 5 star restaurants and a whole area dedicated to local artisans. The whole area around the Mall is full of stunning artwork and it is home to a kid friendly cinema and indoor play centre.
Nearest Station to IconSiam: Saphan Taksin then free shuttle boat

Central Chidlom
Central Chidlom is one of the biggest malls in Bangkok and in my opinion has the most stuff for kids. In fact it has a whole floor dedicated to kids clothes, toys, accessories and baby products. There’s a good range of designer high end stores including Gucci kids and Paul Smith Junior and brands you will recognise from home like Gap kids and Mothercare. The choice is immense making this the go to if you’ve forgotten something important. Kids will love a visit to Build a Bear whilst you’re there. It has a breast feeding room, babysitting service, heaps of restaurants and you can even hire strollers for your visit.
Nearest Station to Central Chidlom: Chit Lom BTS
Indoor Malls in Bangkok
CentralwOrld
CentralwOrld is absolutely huge and has stores for everything imaginable. Here you’ll find Toys R Us, Toybies and some excellent places to grab a meal. This is another good one for baby products from Baby Basket and Baby Hills. It also has a Kinokuniya book store. For kids clothes there’s an H & M, American Eagle, Birkenstocks, Converse, G2000, Zara and more.
Nearest Station to CentralwOrld: Chit Lom BTS
MBK
Probably the most popular and famous of the indoor shopping malls in Bangkok is MBK. Home to thousands of small, stall type independent stores selling everything from phone cases to boxing gloves. I wouldn’t really come here with anything specific in mind but kids will love a browse and the atmosphere is lots of fun. You’ll be able to have a little haggle with stall holders to get a market feel. They do also have some brands you might recognise like Giordano, Wacoal and a 7 Eleven. There’s a good value food court and a computer arcade to keep the kids happy.
Nearest Station to MBK: National Stadium BTS

Siam Centre
If you’re in Bangkok with teens they’ll love the Siam Centre. It has a Forever 21, Lush, JD Sports, Sephora and Victorias Secret. Plus some other fashion brands they wont have heard of but will absolutely love. It has loud music, funky lighting and an electric piano staircase. Serious cool parent brownie points coming your way! It’s right next to the Madam Tussauds Bangkok and another ice rink to extend your day.
Nearest Station to the Siam Centre: National Stadium BTS
Mega Bangna
Mega Bangna Mall is located a bit out of the city centre. Here you’ll find a Toys R Us, Lego Store, Mothercare and several other baby shops. You’ll find plenty of kids friendly clothes shops like JD Sports, Birkenstock, G200 and H & M. Mega Bangna is where Bangkok’s Ikea is located if you’re in Bangkok for an extended period of time and need some kids furniture. It’s home to an IHOP which really brightened my daughters day!
Nearest station to Mega Bangna: Udomsuk BTS then you’ll have to get a Grab or Taxi the rest of the way.

You definitely don’t have to head to a mall to pick up things for kids in Bangkok. There are smaller independent stores all over the city. Many will sell little toys and souvenirs and we found small sizes of t shirts and elephant pants would easily fit my daughter from about 6 upwards.

Family friendly Markets in Bangkok
Chatuchak Weekend Market
As one of the largest markets in Bangkok you should find at least 100 stalls selling baby and kid sized clothes at Chatuchack. You should be able to find some western styles alongside traditional Thai attire. Prices here are super low, especially if you haggle a bit. But always check the quality closely, you don’t want to go home with something that falls apart after one wear. You’ll find Chatuchack market at the last stop on the Mo Chit Sky Train line.
Khao San Road
The original but not necessarily the best is the market at Khao San Road. We don’t tend to visit here for the shopping, more for the fun and slightly frenetic vibe. We love a stroll down the fairly short road, browsing the stalls and stopping for a cold drink in one of the many bars and restaurants lining the street. This is backpacking central so a great area for people watching but that also means you’ll probably want to leave before sunset as it can get a bit crazy. Read my full review of the Khao San Road with kids to plan your visit.

The Plane Market
The Plane Market or Chang Chui Market is a fairly new and unique addition to Bangkoks Market scene. The main feature is an actual plane located in the middle. It’s been turned into a restaurant and you leave the place via a slide from the original exit shoot. Surely every kid will love that! This isn’t a market full of designer knock offs and cheap souvenirs, it’s more authentic artisan products which you’ll pay a fair price for. It has a very hipsterish vibe with art installations all over the market. Public transport to reach the market isn’t great so I recommend getting a Grab or Taxi. The market is open each day.
Asiatique
Located on the riverfront, Asiatique is popular place for shopping with kids in Bangkok. It’s less street market, more family friendly attraction. It has heaps of stalls including some sweet kids clothing and toy shops and plenty of bars and restaurants from which to enjoy a view of the river. Asiatique is home to Thailands largest big wheel and even a small theme park – kids will absolutely love it! You can read my full review of Bangkok Asiatique Riverfront here and see heaps more photos. It’s definitely not the cheapest place for shopping in Bangkok but it is one of the most fun. This is one of our favourite things to do with kids in Bangkok.

Best baby shops in Bangkok
Mothercare in Central Chidlom has pretty much everything you will need for your baby but if you’re stuck for more baby essentials head to Mega Bangna Mall which has another Mothercare, Kiddoland, Rocking kids and many more. Minene is another great store for baby products in Bangkok. You will find their stores in pretty much every indoor Mall in the city.
Have a look at these great hotels with a kids club in Bangkok.
Shopping Malls in Bangkok with playgrounds
The majority of shopping malls in Bangkok have some kind of family friendly attraction attached. We love the ones with playgrounds where Piper can burn off a bit of steam after an hour or so trawling the shops. Mega Bangna near Suvarnabhami Airport has an excellent outdoors play area with a super fun splash play area, perfect for cooling off in. It also has the fantastic Mega Harbour land, a massive indoor playground.

CentralwOrld is another great Mall to entertain the kids. It has an Ice rink and a cinema, a creative and learning space and a fun indoor play area. IconSiam has a rather brilliant kid friendly cinema where kids can sit in a ball pit, ride a slide and run about all whilst watching a movie.

Kidzooona is another super fun play area for younger kids located in Gateway Ekamai shopping mall. It has sensory areas and ball pits for the youngest visitors and climbing ropes, a gaming station and a bouncing platform for older kids. Take the BTS to Ekkamai Station.
Are kids clothes cheaper in Thailand?
Unsurprisingly you can pick up super cheap kids clothes in all the markets in Bangkok and most of the malls. These are great for wearing a few times, jumping in the pool and playing at the beach. Just be warned, these aren’t always the quality you will be used to at home. To be honest, they may not even survive the first wash. You’ll also find mega cheap designer brand knock offs, again, check the quality carefully if you do choose to buy.
Branded shops such as H&M, Zara or Forever 21 are unlikely to be any cheaper than at home. In fact they are sometimes more expensive than stores in Europe in order to maintain the brand image.

Unique shopping for kids in Bangkok
If your kids like quirky toys and collectables then they’ll love a visit to Gachabox located in Siam Square opposite the Rolex Shop. It’s a treasure trove of colourful plastic figures!
Gorgeous independent store Khom located in Miracle Mall is the best kind of lifestyle store with a very cute kids clothing section. You’ll probably find something for yourself while you’re there!
Once Upon a Time is another great kids store selling handmade clothing, accessories and cuddly toys. They also do fun family sets – perfect for that instagram photoshoot. There is a Once Upon A Time store in Central World and one in Central Festival.
Eco-friendly brand Nappi sells sustainable essentials made from bamboo. They have the softest muslins, bedding and baby clothes.

English language bookstores in Bangkok for kids
Kinokuniya is a great bookstore with plenty of English language options for kids. They have small kids areas to sit and relax. They have stores in CentralwOrld and Siam Paragon.
Asia Books is another chain store with a huge range of English language books and a great kids section. You’ll find them all over Bangkok, there’s pretty much one in each of the malls mentioned above.

Where to shop when the kids get hungry
7 Elevens can be found all over Bangkok and they’re great for a quite snack and a cold drink. They do a massive range of crisps, sweets and chocolate (if it survives the heat!) and my daughter is obsessed with their ham and cheese toasties. They’re a super cheap option for lunch. Family Mart is another convenience store chain located around the city. Again these are good places to grab your snacks.

If you’re kids are craving their favourite brands from home head to a Villa Market international supermarket. They have several stores all over central Bangkok so you should be able to find one. Western brands are a bit expensive but maybe worth it to keep the kids happy. There are also several IHOPs in the Bangkok Malls, the pancakes always go down a treat!

Of course street food can be found all over the city, it’s cheap, tasty and as long as you follow the crowds and ensure your food is cooked through it’s very healthy. We love grabbing a bag of freshly cut fruit as to eat as we’re exploring.
