Other attractions you may want to visit in Bangkok with kids

If you have time to spare or don’t fancy shelling out on a tour, there are plenty of kid friendly activities that are easy enough to do on your own. If your kids are into museums, I highly recommend a visit to Museum of Siam. Here you’ll learn all about historical and modern Thailand with interactive exhibits and hands on activities.

Or if your kids are into shopping (as much as my daughter is!), a few hours at IconSiam will be a real treat. It’s one of the most beautiful shopping malls I’ve ever visited with stunning artwork, excellent restaurants and food stalls and high end (for Bangkok) shops.

For a considerably cheaper shopping experience, head to the Khao San Road, one of Thailands original market streets and backpacker attractions. Kids can practice their negotiation skills, experience all the excitement, smells and colour of Bangkok and it’s a great place to sit back with a drink and just people watch.

FAQs About Bangkok tours with kids

Are Bangkok tours safe for children?
Yes, Bangkok tours are generally safe for children. The city offers a wide range of family-friendly activities and attractions. However, it’s essential to exercise standard safety precautions, such as monitoring children in crowded areas, following local guidelines, and being mindful of traffic and street food choices.

Where should I stay in Bangkok with kids?

Bangkok is full of amazing hotels and most are incredible value. The standard of accomodation you can expect is far better than most places we’ve stayed in Europe. We’ve found some excellent hotels which go over and above for children. Read about them in my post on the best Bangkok hotels for kids.

What are the must-visit places in Bangkok for a family tour?

For me I have to say the temples and markets should be top of your list. They encapsulate the very heart on Bangkok, but you don’t need to spend heaps of time visiting them. Make sure you include some more kid specific activities like a cooking class, water park or Asiatique trip to keep the little ones happy.

Are there age restrictions for specific attractions in Bangkok?

Yes, some attractions in Bangkok have age or height restrictions, particularly for certain rides in amusement parks and water parks. It’s advisable to check specific attraction websites or inquire on-site for detailed information

How can we get around Bangkok with kids?

Bangkok has a truly excellent public transport system. The train system is clean, quick and efficient. Most places you can’t access by train, you can hop on a boat along the river. Both are incredibly affordable. Traffic in Bangkok is horrific and being on the roads doesn’t always feel safe but for shorter journeys that kids will love you can always take a tuk tuk.

Are there any cultural or etiquette considerations when visiting with children?

Yes, when visiting Bangkok with children, it’s essential to be mindful of local customs and etiquette. Dress modestly when visiting temples, remove shoes before entering homes or certain businesses, and teach children to be respectful and polite in their interactions with locals.
